Project Pinwheel is a national initiative geared toward raising awareness for the [growing] number of children currently in foster care throughout the United States.
Spearheaded in Wisconsin by Lad Lake - a non-profit organization that provides aid to young adults who have aged out of foster care through its Connections program - Project Pinwheel consists of 7,000 pinwheels, one for each foster child in Wisconsin.
